European startup userlab session
The aim of this userlab organised under the LILA EU project is to facilitate the interaction of start-up companies with test users from different European regions. The userlab is a core internationalisation support for the start-ups. The interactions with users in the product & service development phase allow to the startups to fine tune their product/service value proposals by integrating the user needs, desires and expectations. The userlab is also an opportunity for the participating users to discover innovative concepts and to contribute to the development of technical and social innovations. 4 projects will be presented in that userlab, 1 from France and 3 from the UK. The projects will be presented under 2 parallel sessions. First session from 16:00 to 17:00 users can participate to one of the following projects:
Baie Thermodynamique is an innovative window system developed in Nancy France that generates an added value in terms of thermal comfort, ergonomic and aesthetics design. The BaieThermodynamique solution has been developed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals capitalising on several years experience in energy renovation projects. The equipment adapts to the multiple construction modes with an easy setup and ensures a quick return on investment.
Blindx aim to dramatically improve the quality of life of the visually impaired through the use of innovative technology. The technological device that they are currently developing is a smart cane called XploR.The product has many features to assist users in living more independent and helping with daily activities such as mobility and navigation.
The second parallel session will run from 17:00 to 18:00 and users will be able to participate to one of the following projects:
The VegPi Project is an environment monitor that is specifically geared towards helping the in urban farmin activities. It is based on the low-cost RaspberryPi computer system. The VegPi aims to engage with the user by providing feedback on growing conditions through visual indicators and personalized email alerts when conditions change.
Smart Bin+ is an electronic bin that radically revolutionizes how companies manage their waste collection processes. The bin simply provides intelligence through a local network to enable them to improve efficiency in waste management.The Smart Bin+ is designed to be used and located in company general waste areas i.e. Office bins, Canteen Bin, Toilet Bin and Corridor bin.
