Une Journée pour créer des mini jeux vidéo
The gaming industry is getting more and more plural and represents various interacting entertainment domains, technologies and experts. After the Cologne Gamescom event closure, the greater region gaming Pro-Ams (professional and amateurs) gathered last 31st August for one day of game design festival at the Technoport in Luxembourg. The event objective was to promote video game makers communities as independent games creators on the greater region basis to share passions, know-how and venture opportunities. 42 participants took up the challenge of designing a maximum of minigames and microgames in one day.
The BBQ Game Jam was jointly organised by the Technoport incubator, COIN (Comité d'Organisation des Interactivités Numériques), Europe4startup and Insydelabs powering the living lab. The overall objective of this partnership was to promote a digital creative Do-tank around video games in the greater region.
Participants composed teams of 3-4 jammers to create video games not exceeding ten seconds. At the end of the event 19 mini games were produced, they were compiled in one single game à la Wario-Ware! and released online for free. The integrated game release has launch a living lab (living laboratory) allowing game testing and commented reviews by the worldwide online gamer audience. The BBQ game jam has thus generate an interactive user centered design event across the game creators and the gamers, all that in a single day.
