Epuramat was founded in 2005 and had its first offices in the Technoport. The company provides technological advanced turn-key wastewater treatment plants and systems for efficient wastewater treatment.
Epuramat's innovative technology, based on its ExSep solid/liquid separator (patent pending), makes the treatment of wastewater more efficient, which results in much smaller, less expensive, and easier-to-use treatment plant and systems. Achim Kopmeier, co-founder of Epuramat, has developed the ExSep solid/liquid separator by improving existing fast sedimendation devices that represent the current state of the art. The fundamental difference of the ExSep to existing static devices lies in the fact the the ExSep is equipped with a flexible diffuser which enables it to adjust through a programmable logic controller (PLC) to strongly varying influents and load fluctuations caused by rain and infiltration water, and also to adjsut to variations in the density and temperatures like they arise in the daily operations of a wastewater plant. The trick is the coupling of the three hydraulic processes that can be maintained by this adjustable diffuser even if there is a change of the boundary conditions. The device can thereby ensure a continuously high separating efficiency. Only therefore a meaningful usage in a communal wastewater plant becomes possible.
Epuramat has taken over Chaux de Contern's wastewater treatment unit which has constructed over 50 wastewater treatment plants in Luxembourg in the past 40 years.
The company, in cooperation with the government of Luxembourg, has conducted a successful research project concerning the application of its groundbreaking wastewater treatment system.
